Baby Borrowers

I have been watching the show Baby Borrowers. I watched these teens take infants into their "home" then toddlers, then pre-teens, then teens and then finally elderly people. All the teens had their problems but most stuck it out for the show. There was one couple that did not. The last episode, which aired this evening, brought the elderly into the homes of the teens. This made me realize that no matter what my children will have a relationship with their grandparents. I didn't have the opportunity to live close to either one of my grandparents so we only saw them on trips. The last time I was able to see my mom's parents was 2 years ago. The last time I was able to see my dad's parents was when I was getting married. My dad's dad has since passed away and I wish that I had had the chance to spend time with him and learn what his life was like when he was younger and when he was a parent to my dad and all the trials that him and my grandma went through together. I am so grateful for the example my grandpa was to my dad though. I don't think that my dad would be the man he is today had it not been for him. I love my grandpa so much and miss him everyday but know that I will be able to see him again. I think we all live that what if life when we lose something that we should have/could have been closer to. My dad has since started calling Braydon his pal. (That is what my grandpa used to call each of us. ) We were all Pal. I think watching this show just brought in a lot of emotion that I have been wanting to vent but haven't. I know that Ryan and I have had our ups and our downs but no matter what we still love each other and support one another in the decisions that we make in our every day life. I am so blessed to have a husband that lets me stay home with our child so that I can be there for him no matter what. I am blessed to have Ryan. He is understanding and loving and caring. I am also blessed to have parents that love me and have raised me in the gospel. Who knows where my life would be right now if I didn't have the gospel. I thank them for always being there for me. I didn't realize until this week how much I really do depend on them and I know I need to lay off of that. They are at a stage where they just want to see their children and grandchildren enjoy life and be able to just spoil the grand babies! I am so grateful for all the sacrifices that my parents made so that I could do the things that I wanted to..soccer..gymnastics...volleyball. They have always been there to support me and for that I am grateful! I love everyone that has been there in my life...my friends..Amber, Megan, Kim, Amanda. I love my family very much and I hope they all know that! MUAH!

I Can't Wait Until December!

Braydon and I have been looking at toys online so that I can get an idea of what he wants for his birthday and for Christmas. Here is what he has told me.. EVERYTHING!!! haha!! Here are the Santa toys that he told me he wanted!

Apparently you have to rob a bank to afford Christmas when kids get older!!!! This is crazy!! At least he could use them until he is like 7! that is ok then right??

My New Calling

I have a new calling in life-MMA Women's fighter!! How awesome, right? Ryan recorded Strikeforce for me tonight and I want to do it so bad!!! I fell in love with the world of Mixed Martial Arts while I was pregnant with Braydon! I became hooked and we would record it and watch it sometimes at like 3 in the morning when Ryan would get home from Sonic! They now are introducing Women into the mix. They of course fight other women but come on...how cool! * I know mom you are freaking out saying that no daughter of yours is going to fight!!!! * I can remember one Sunday going up to Mindy and randomly saying..I feel like watching some one get beat up! Isn't that horrible? Here I am at church and saying that I wanted to see someone get beaten up!!! I am not a violent person! I just like to watch it on TV! I think it was my hormones that got my addicted to it while I was pregnant! Anyways! Watch for me in the MMA one day! I need a name...Maren " The....." Johnson...any suggestions???

Yet Again I Feel OLD

One of my Best friend's little sister got married on Thursday. I can still remember going to their house and messing with Ashley till she would cry and also having so much fun with her! She was actually the one that taught me to ride a bike! When she was 5 and I was 8 I was over at their house and she was riding her TWO wheeler bike. I was not riding any bike and Ashley told me "I bet you can't ride a bike". I had to of course prove her wrong and show her that I could even though I COULDN'T!!! I did though!!! That was the first day that I rode a two wheeler bike all by myself without my dad holding onto the back!!!! Thank you Ashley. Her reception was beautiful. It was great to see old friends that I hadn't seen in a long time! I am so happy for Ashley and the decision that she made to get married in the temple. She is now sealed to wonderful guy, Jeremy. They are going to be so happy together. They make one of the cutest couples!!! Thanks for making me feel old Ashley!!! Love you and your family!!!

I Finally Realize That I am Getting Old

I was asked to help out with Youth Conference yesterday and I willingly volunteered remembering all the fun I had when I was in Youth! I arrived on time and got signed in and got my free shirt (Yeah for free things!!) and put my name on the list to be a team leader! As most of you know it has done nothing but rain here for like the WHOLE week it seems! ALL the activities for YC were outside!! Yipee right? NOT!!!! We played kickball and human foosball in the rain then got to go under the pavillion and play human battleship ( That on was way fun!) We had to eat outside b/c we were all drenched from the down pour! I went to sleep last night and when I woke up this morning I can hardly move and I couldn't breath b/c the gym was COLD and I was wet!!! All in All I realize that I am getting old and its hard to keep up with these youngsters! I kindof felt out of place b/c I am not even in Youth and so I didn't know anyone but the girls from our ward! It was fun though in the end and was a great experience that I won't forget for a LONG time!! Oh to be young again!!!! I can still remember my first Youth Conference. Signing in and then waiting to see what we got to do next! The dances and feeling nervous for that one boy to ask you to dance and then getting asked and tripping over your own feet as you dance! The service that we were able to do for people while we were there and the great speakers that always made you cry just b/c they could b/c the spirit was so strong! Staying up late with your girlfriends talking about what guy you wanted to dance with the next night at the dance!!! Those were the days!!!!! I am so happy to be married now and not have to worry about the boys!! haha!!!

A Day Without Accidents

Today I was able to go out shopping with Braydon and he had big boy underwear on and had NO accidents the whole time! He is growing up so fast. Time flies by! At JoAnn's my mom took him and she said that while they were in there he said "look at my big boy underwear!!!" Too cute! He then came running out of the bathroom saying " I Pee Peed mommy!" He is always so proud of himself when goes like a big boy! I think I was trying to put it off as along as possible so I could have my baby longer. It seems like just yesterday they were putting him in my arms for the first time! I can remember all the Firsts we had with him! The first diaper change...Ryan got to do that b/c I was in the bath, The First feeding...I tried to do that!!!! haha!! And the many other firsts that he has had and will have! I enjoy everything about being a mom! It is the best time of my life! I grow to love myself more each day b/c Braydon teaches me that its ok if I look the way I do, its ok to cry, its ok to get upset and its ok to do whatever I do! I am so excited that Heavenly Father trust Ryan and me so much to send us such a loving child! He is so lovable and sweet! He hates to see you cry and will come comfort you if you need it! I love him so much!

Mamma Mia

I just got home from seeing Mamma Mia with one of my sister-in-laws! It was such a great show! I am dying to see it again already b/c I took Braydon with me and a potty training 2 year old, a medium soda, and a 2 hour movie they could care less about don't mix! I had one couple that we probably could have known by name by the time the show was over! They thought Braydon was so cute! (Me, not so much after about 5 potty trips!!!) If anyone is up for seeing it this weekend let me know b/c I would really like to see the WHOLE thing!! Peirce Brosnen (?) was is in it and totally can't sing but other then that it's great b/c I used to totally have a thing for him! haha!! I went to Best Buy afterwards to get the sound track but of course they were all sold out! The music is awesome! I loved it!

Accidents

Braydon has been doing really well with potty training this past week. We went swimming yesterday at Grandma and PaPa Johnson's house and for some reason swimming does his stomach in! He has had like 4 accidents since we went swimming yesterday. I don't know why this is. Other then that he is still going on! I just wish I could get him to wear regular underwear! He stays dry in his pull-ups but not underwear! Its driving me crazy! Here I have a kid that is almost fully potty trained but still insists on wearing diapers!! AHH!! Its been kindof fun though sharing the memories of potty training with him! He does his potty dance when he is done and is so excited that he will soon get to go to Chuck E. Cheese! We have fun making up songs about going to the bathroom! He makes me laugh when he tries to do one himself!

Corn Eating Contest With Gabi

So Braydon and Gabi are very competitive and they decided one day while were were at Grandma and PaPa's that they would have a corn eating contest! The winner is still yet to be decided!

Cheeto Pals

I Colored the Duck Blue Because I Never Seen a Blue Duck

I have to say that Dornbos Park is so much fun BUT they need more shade! Braydon and Gabi had a blast feeding the ducks and chasing them. Gabi was the one that chased the poor ducks into the water and the picture above is right before she was able to grab the duck butt!!! They had a blast...where will Holli and I end up next on the tour de park as Holli called it!?

potty training..I know still??

Well we have really kicked potty training in the butt!! Today Braydon and I have stayed home all day long to work on it!! He has done really well. He has only had 2 accidents today! One time it was really my fault b/c I was outside talking and he was at the door trying to tell me he had to go to the potty!!! Oppss... Funny thing though..he does better in pull ups then in underwear. Why is that? anyone have a guess? He has not had an accident in the pull ups today, only the underwear! I guess its his way of saying that he likes pull ups? Today has been a great day full of dancing and made up songs about going to the potty and lots of Chuck E. Cheese money! I got a coupon of the computer and got 100 tokens so that when he learns to go potty like a big boy we can go to Chuck E. Cheese. He can't wait and I think that is what is motivating him! Whatever works right?

Splish Splash

Gabi totally loved the water park. It was a great place to go on such a HOT day!

Braydon being Braydon!!!

I think this was their favorite water sprayer...its a light house!
Braydon playing king of the hill on the picnic table!!!

Potty Training...STILL

So I am still trying to potty train Braydon but I don't want to push him too hard. He has been telling me when he needs to do poo poos but that is it. I guess that is a start right? I have made him a sticker chart and he LOVES putting those things on. Any other ideas? I know some of you have boys and have been through the potty training stage with them..let me know! I decided to really push it when he runs out of diapers! I don't want to be left with them..is that bad???

Our Enjoyable Weekend...a little bit of it

Braydon wasn't too fond of this thing!!!!

I Love this picture!

Such a little kid!!!

Tidal Wave!!!!

This is about the only way to get Braydon on the slide...you have to put him on the end of it!!!

Ryan and Braydon just hangin' out!

Jumping to daddy in the pool

Braydon had a blast playing with Joe and Lyssa's little girl, Emma

Braydon ran away with camera and this is one of the pictures that he took...I thought it was kind of cool

Braydon was pretending to help Grandpa by hitting him with the whip.....

Our weekend has been wonderful so far! We have had the opportunity to spend the weekend with family and old friends! One of Ryan's best friends growing up came down to visit with his wife and two little girls. They came over to Ryan's parents on Friday and then we went to the splash park on Saturday. Friday was so much fun! We played in the pool with Ryan's parents and then we later went to Ryan's sister's house (Angela) for a great fireworks display! Braydon loved the fireworks! He even helped Ryan shoot some off! (SHHH.....don't tell Papa Petersen!!!) Emma ( Joe and Lyssa's little girl) wasn't too fond of them at first but she warmed up right at the end but was still ready to go! Lyssa was the dare devil and was lighting the fireworks they had bought! She about killed me at one point! Thanks Lyssa! The splash park out in Port Neches rocks! It totally puts the one here in Beaumont to shame. If you ever get the chance to go out there do it! I think I might have had more fun then Braydon though. I love things like that. It looked like a pirate ship and had a light house and all kinds of other thing! We also went over to Tug Boat Island and let Emma and Braydon play for a little bit. Braydon didn't like it one bit until we went to the little kid part..he is really scared of heights but we are working on it! He loved the wooden fire truck.

I got there a little early so I could be the traffic and I was able to sit have a great conversation with Jenna. We normally don't get to talk much do to so much commotion! We had great food made by the great chef mom johnson! She did a great job on the fried chicken!!! It was yum-o!! We also got to go swimming with the kids since the weather held up today! Yeah!! We ended up in the hot tub b/c it was kindof cool with the wind blowing! (Don't worry--Paige just put her feet in!!) All in All it was a great day! Braydon and I were able to share it with family and that made it all better! We are headed out there again tomorrow to celebrate the 4th for a little bit!!!!! The joys of having family close...and one set of grandparents that still has a pool!!! It makes for a cooler summer!!
